Handouts and Tee-shirts

    Play it Blue has many services such as the Jazz Blue Trio, wedding performer, piano lessons, the tribute band for Fleetwood Mac and a few more. Most of my capstone project so far has been focusing on the Jazz Blue Trio but my dad came to me the other day and ask if I could design tee-shirts for the tribute to Fleetwood Mac band. This band is much different from the jazz band and has a whole separate branding. I thought this would be a fun way to show more explains of how I design in my final capstone presentation. 

    The first thing I needed to do was research what tee-shirt designs already exist for Fleetwood Mac and reference the artwork for the tribute band. Most of the designs were black and white silhouette pictures of the band members with more of a dark aesthetic. Other tee-shirt designs were colorful with flowers and had a hippie aesthetic. I started sketching ideas based on those two more popular Fleetwood Mac tee-shirt designs. 

    After showing my dad my sketches, he liked the dark aesthetic with the silhouettes of the band members more than the hippie designs. I have started on rough ideas yet, I have only sketched a few ideas and will start the roughs soon. I also have been working on sketches for the “All About the Band” handouts for both bands, Jazz Blue Trio and the tribute band. The Jazz Blue Trio handout is going to be an 8.5 by 11 inch piece of paper the audience can read while enjoying the performance. 

    The tribute handout is going to be more of a postcard that they can send to wedding venues and music festivals. This handout is going to be in the same design style as the tee-shirt since they are for the same service. I attached pictures of my sketches for tee-shirts and handouts. I will be starting the roughs and final designs, hopefully, by this weekend.
